Rhubees is a small chocolate business situated in Kloof in KZN Like many small businesses, it started as a hobby in our kitchen and, over the years, grew into a business.

The company is owned by us – Julienne Prozesky and Alex Roberts – and was started with five other friends who also loved chocolate but recognised the health risks of sugar. So, we decided to somehow find or make our own sugar-free chocolate. The journey took a different turn when we stumbled upon a source of the most amazing sugar-free Belgian couverture chocolate. We just couldn’t believe that any sugar-free chocolate could taste this good. And so, the adventure began….

From the kitchen, Rhubees eventually moved into its own small, state-of-the-art factory and we found Thulani, our professionally trained chocolatier.

Since then, we have visited the factory in Belgium where our chocolate is produced to do a “Bean to Bar” course with them to learn the art of the chocolatier. Over the years, we have exhibited at different trade shows in South Africa and won several awards.
Just before lockdown, we traveled to Italy to buy chocolate machinery to bring new and different chocolate products to market.

After all these years, we still love our chocolate. Once you’ve tasted it, we know you will too….
